HENGE are unquestionably one of the most unique bands currently releasing new music. Their latest single, ‘Self Repair Protocol’ is described as “a charming little vignette written from the perspective of a malfunctioning robot, which could read as a metaphor for self-care,” by frontman Zpor. They’ve crafted a truly extraterrestrial sound, with manic synths and glitchy electronics underpinning a vocal delivery that could be being beamed from space. Still, the alien-rockers don’t lose their gift for melody at any point, and complement their tongue-in-cheek music with a surreal stop-motion music video, courtesy of Katy-Anne Bellis and Coleen Chandler.
